1,000 Followers...SaY WhAt?!?!?!?! ~~ GIVEAWAY TIME!!!!!

** UPDATE ** I have added Very Jane to part of the giveaway if you haven't followed them go back into Rafflecopter to be included for those options.

Well A LOT is going on over here in my little bloggy world.  I'm going to soon have a new blog design...CAn'T wAiT for that...and I am super duper close to 1,000 followers.  So I am joining with 2 friends to celebrate.  I wanted to keep it simple for you all...well sorta!  Here's the deal....
Of course there are some teachery goodies being offered...and there is something up my sleeve that has to do with Very Jane. { which I am kinda obsessed with ~ just ask my hubby }  He's sorta  very sick of seeing the packages arrive each week.  Anywho the kicker is that I want to focus on a Random Act of Kindness as part of the giveaway.
So ~~~~ in order to participate you will need to follow us, blah, blah, blah the usual. :o)  But you will need to comment with a random act of kindness you have done today or wait until you do one then come back and comment.  This blog represents so much more than just teaching in my life and I think it's the perfect way to show just that.
{ ** APPARENTLY I'm not RAFFLECOPTER savvy - so here is a list of the links you will need...sorry :o/ ** }

  1. My RAK: I left a copy of The Daily 5 and note of congratulations in the box of the teacher who will be taking over my grade level leader position next year...she was very surprised and appreciative! It will be here first year in the grade level and I am moving to another campus.

  2. Wonderful news! I am happy to be one of your followers! My RAK was this past weekend at Costco, a lady in a Jazzy (motorized walker) was having trouble shopping with her cart. So I offered to push the cart for her while she shopped! (My hubby was thrilled that I wasn't bugging him to leave.)

  11. As a part time teacher, I usually only work from 8 a.m. to 12:30. When one of our other teachers had to leave (her husband is very ill), I volunteered to stay in her classroom for the remainder of the day. It's the most I can do while her family is going through a terrible illness.

  13. Two of my colleagues had a big presentation to prepare for today and were feeling a little frazzled. While they were getting their presentation materials ready, I set up the refreshments that they had purchased for the event. It was just a small little surprise to help out friends in need. :)

  14. Before I write my comment, I want you to know that I am in no way affiliated with this organization, but just wondered if you have heard of the Josh Stevens Foundation. They are in nearly every school here in Las Vegas (if not all) and they are all about spreading the kindness word. They have super cool shirts, too!

    Good luck with all you do!

  18. I did not say what I wanted to say to my hubby tonight. I bit my tongue because he is having a rough time at work right now and aside from TLC, prayer, and biting my tongue there is really nothing I can do. So I bit my tongue. I adore RAK.

  25. Whoops! Hit reply too quickly. For the past five years, I have sponsored Florida Ag in the Classroom Literacy Day. I have been fortunate to receive classroom sets of the latest Florida Farm book and in years past, I have worked with over 200 fourth and fifth graders to learn how to excite younger students about reading as they share these books in their classrooms. This year, I was moved to kindergarten, mid-year, but I didn't want to stop a tradition. I set up the program for the 4th grade departmentalized reading teacher and will mentor her as she takes the torch. I love this and am not sure if it's a RAK or my desire to continue to offer this program to our students, both the readers and the listeners.

  27. Congratulations Vicky! I just love your blog and am excited to see your new design! Thanks for the great giveaway. I'll be working on a RAK this week. I'm going to send out some emails to my coworkers and fill their "buckets" with compliments!So often, I think~ this is an adorable bulletin board or what a fantastic presentation at the staff meeting, but then get busy and forget to tell them. Everyone needs a pat on the back from time to time!

  30. I brought my class to sing Happy Birthday to one of the secretaries in the office who is not always the...ummm..kindest to staff. She recorded it on her phone to share with her family and it made her day. Better yet, my class was all giggles and warm fuzzies for a while. Feels great to do things for others!

  46. I LOVE RAK! That has really been a focus in my classroom this year! My kiddos LOVE to be a Kindness Kid, and are always asking now if they can go do something for someone. Last week, we made "we miss you cards" to the kids that moved away. And most of my kiddos wanted to make extra. :)
