Testing and More

So as many of you know I have moved up to 3rd from first.  I spent about 15 years in first and 5 in 2nd.  I LOVE third so much!  I love the independence, the more challenging curriculum ( especially math ) - it's been GREAT!!!!  Until... ~ ~ ~ the DREADED TESTing!!!  That TEST!  Ugh!
I know that it's all 21st centuryish and on line well ~ hello!  I taught 2nd and 3rd years ago when we did the test and it was paper pencil.  I must say I like that test MUCH better!  However I see that we are headed in the direction of technology and there seems to be no way around it.  Of course in order to take this type of test I have to spend valuable teaching time prepping them on HOW to use the tools on this test.  Here is a sample video/practice test where the kids are being taught how to use the tools that are offered by this test.

We had a busy week indeed!  We also managed to get in a skype session with Jane Goodall { which was amazing by the way }.  The kids loved it!

The last exciting part of my week involves my mama who you all know I love and miss ....well she made the TPT blog and newsletter.  Lastly we had a Rubik's Cube dress up day at school.  Each grade level is assigned a different color to wear and we are so colorful at Friday line up.  Have you ever had that kind of day?  Hope your week was great!!!! xoxo

Tell me about your week!

  1. Skyping with Jane Goodall! How awesome is that?
I can see why Grade 3 would be appealing. Some days in Grade 1 I definitely wish they were more independent ~ haha.
That's very cool that your mom made the TpT newsletter!!

  2. Aww thanks Barbara! <3 Have a great week!

  3. I'm SOOOOO happy you and your mom made the newsletter! You are so deserving! :o)
