Mother's Day Craftivity

Mother's Day is such a special day to honor the wonderful moms in our lives.  It is a bittersweet day for me though as I wish I could celebrate with my mom. <3
I have a brand new craftivity that I'm sooo excited about to share with you!  It's called My mom is a Queen and it's a fun little craft and card for mom that she will love and keep forever.

I love that these are personalized to each child.  They chose the hair, dress ( scrapbook paper ) pattern.  Some added a necklace and earrings.  The little sash card is so sweet too.  If you are looking for something different this year than this is for you!  Grab it

Testing and More

So as many of you know I have moved up to 3rd from first.  I spent about 15 years in first and 5 in 2nd.  I LOVE third so much!  I love the independence, the more challenging curriculum ( especially math ) - it's been GREAT!!!!  Until... ~ ~ ~ the DREADED TESTing!!!  That TEST!  Ugh!
I know that it's all 21st centuryish and on line well ~ hello!  I taught 2nd and 3rd years ago when we did the test and it was paper pencil.  I must say I like that test MUCH better!  However I see that we are headed in the direction of technology and there seems to be no way around it.  Of course in order to take this type of test I have to spend valuable teaching time prepping them on HOW to use the tools on this test.  Here is a sample video/practice test where the kids are being taught how to use the tools that are offered by this test.

We had a busy week indeed!  We also managed to get in a skype session with Jane Goodall { which was amazing by the way }.  The kids loved it!

The last exciting part of my week involves my mama who you all know I love and miss ....well she made the TPT blog and newsletter.  Lastly we had a Rubik's Cube dress up day at school.  Each grade level is assigned a different color to wear and we are so colorful at Friday line up.  Have you ever had that kind of day?  Hope your week was great!!!! xoxo

Tell me about your week!

Currently APRIL

Wait what?!?!  It's April already????????????  Well today is always a hard day for me...my sweet angel mom passed away 8 years ago today from a horrific, rare cancer!  She was my BFF and I am thankful for the wonderful years I had with her but miss her terribly every single day!

I' m here linking up with Farley for Currently to let you know what's going on in my neck of the woods.

Be sure to swing on by and link up too.

So I'm on Spring Break - week 2 in fact and it's always so nice!  Hubby is an Athletic Director at a high school and we had this week off together.  I'm listening to one of my favorite shows.  I guess if I wasn't a teacher I would be a CSI girl.  I love forensics, mysteries, etc.  Strange I know!
I have wanted TIEKS for well over a year and just can't pull the trigger on the expense.  I feel guilty like my kids/family could use that money in a different way...someday!
I have been feeling lead to get involved in either a woman's bible study or small group with the hubs...it's been years.  I miss that fellowship for sure!

My blog name : Teaching and Much Moore works because of my last name ~ I just wish I called it that from the beginning.
Enjoy your week peeps! xoxox
